Hug your kids a little tighter today (40/365)

Baby Jesus lying in a manger. So peaceful and blessed. Did Mary know that her son would be crucified and die at a (relatively) young age? God knew. He had a plan, as he has a plan for all of us. He knows us individually. And his plan is bigger than we can understand. And every trial is for our good. And God gives us peace.
I have to remind myself of that, especially today, when the death of my friend's 14 month old son, is weighing on my heart. It is a heartbreaking reason to hug my kids a little tighter today.

    I am so sorry about the death of your friend's 14 month old son. We lost our son Mark suddenly to brain cancer in 1998. He was 8 1/2 years old. That's why we started Global Hug Your Kids Day in 2008. Maybe you'd like to have an event in YOUR town in your friend's son's honor for the holiday in 2010. It'll be Monday, July 19.
